The Friends of Roe Green are holding our annual event to recognize our Lancashire County with a celebration at Roe Green Cricket club.
During the evening a proclamation will be read and a toast to the county held, we will also be entertained by the Folk group “Calico”.
This event takes place at Roe Green Cricket club on Friday 25th November and starts at 7.00pm.
Price is £7 per person this includes a Hot pot supper and Tickets are obtainable from Pauline Ogden on 01617903166
How the year has flown by and Christmas is approaching rapidly.
Up to now there are two events this month.The first one is The Friends monthly one in the Church hall.
CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS WITH THE S.C.L. CHOIR.
The choir will entertain with festive songs to get everyone into the Christmas spirit and expect us to join in some songs.
Come along,give your voices a good airing,it will make you feel good.

Take a break from Christmas shopping and join in a festive stroll around historic Roe Green,The Duke of Bridgewater’s other village.
This walk is run by Salford Leisure with walk leader Naomi Lewis.
Meet at Beesley Green Community centre at 2.00pm. The walk is approx 1 mile in a circular route.
Join the walk,blow away a few cobwebs and learn a little bout the Green
Our November event is a talk by Marion Bray, a traveller who gave us a talk in February 2011 on the Land of the Tzars.
For this one Marion is telling us about her adventures on the Inca Trail which will be accompanied with a slide show.
Marion Bray gives her talks to raise money for a school in India for disadvantage children.The school was set up by her friend Helen.So please come along,enjoy the talk and have a good chat with fellow Roe Greeners.
Wednesday 16th November at Roe Green church Hall.
Admission £2 including Tea and Biscuits.
A raffle will be run to help raise money for the Indian School.
The Friends Fun Day on Sunday 11th September was another enjoyable event.Held at the same time as the local fun run everybody had a great time on the various activities,The Bouncy Castle,Football games and plenty of stalls .Also the Birds of Prey were a great attraction.
We were also lucky with the weather,it started to rain an hour after we had finished.Here’s a few views to savour and here’s to next year.
After the August break we are restarting our monthly entertainment with an fascinating afternoon of tales of Roe Green accompanied pictures by Historian Mr Glen Atkinson.
So we look forward to seeing you again at Roe Green Church Hall at 2.00pm.

Our Fantastic fun day is again taking place next Sunday so please come and join in and enjoy all the events.
Performance by a local dance troupe. A bouncy Castle. Entertaining by Salford Leisure choir. Birds of Prey.Fire Service and Police force show their activities.
Stalls with various Arts and Crafts.
Refreshments and drinks available.
Our Fun Day is taking place at the same time as the Worsley Woods Trail Races which attracts runners of all ages as there are two runs,the first for adults at 10.00am with a lenth of approximately 4.5 miles. A fun run/walk for the younger competitors at 11.00am. Prizes are presented at 12.00pm at Beesley Green Community Centre.
So please come and enjoy our fun day ,support the runners as all the proceeds go to Charity
Residents of Roe Green who walk the green cannot have failed to notice how good the flowers in the planters and tubs have been this year.
The large planters on the green or the displays outside the shops and church have been magnificent .
